Psoriasis is one of the more tricky skin conditions to tackle, mainly because it's actually an autoimmune disease that causes skin cells to grow much faster than usual.

You'll know it if you've seen it - it's usually categorised by flaky, often red, irritated patches of skin, these patches can appear almost anywhere on the body, including your scalp and parts of your face.

Although patches do tend to disappear, or at least fade beyond recognition once treated, there isn't a cure for psoriasis at the moment - but there are many treatments sufferers can benefit from.

If you're condition is severe, you may need a high strength steroid cream to manage the symptoms; otherwise mild flare ups can usually be soothed with a good topical cream.
