Britain's Got Talent has come under fire from fans who were left unimpressed by a 'tasteless' news segment spoof, following the recent health scare of news anchor Rageh Omaar. The ITV journalist suffered a medical incident while presenting the News at Ten on Friday evening, causing concern among viewers when he appeared to struggle with his speech.

In an unfortunate coincidence, the next episode of Britain's Got Talent began with a spoof news segment featuring the ITV News logo and anchor Charlene White delivering 'breaking news'.The segment then cut to a mock press conference with judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli being interviewed by children.

Although the segment was intended as a light hearted way to start the show, given the recent events involving Rageh, many fans were taken aback by the sudden appearance of the ITV News logo and took to Twitter to express their displeasure once they realised it was all part of an elaborate skit, reports the Mirror.

One viewer tweeted: "I wish they wouldn't keep doing that fake Breaking News bit on #BritainsGotTalent especially with the stuff that happened with Rageh Omaar yesterday #bgt," while another added: "A bit distasteful to start #BGT with a itv news after last night." Another fan even admitted to worrying about the Royal family given the recent news concerning King Charles and Kate Middleton's respective cancer diagnoses.
