Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan has again expressed concern about Irish people travelling abroad this year. In a tweet this morning, Dr Holohan said that as the country moves to Phase 3 on Monday, what worried him most was travel from overseas.
He said he feared many people were planning foreign trips. Dr Holohan said 2020 was "a year for a staycation" and he urged people to stay in Ireland, spend locally and follow public health advice.
His warning comes as latest figures show there are 12 patients in intensive care with confirmed cases of Covid 19 and six suspected cases.
There were no admissions to ICU in the last 24 hours. There were 19 people in hospital last night with confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 101 suspected cases.
