Coronavirus: Fury as thousands of construction workers told to still go into work

The government faces fury after telling thousands of construction workers they should still come into work today. Many builders - though not all - are still expected to go in despite the country entering lockdown to stop the spread of coronavirus.

Boris Johnson last night banned people from leaving the house other than essential reasons - and outlawed gatherings of more than two people unless they’re from the same household.

But he did not restrict work travel to “key workers” only. Instead the Prime Minister said people can still leave home to go to work, “but work from home where possible”. Are you a construction worker who has been forced to work today?
