The first batch of coronavirus home testing kits were set to run out within hours today as a surge of key workers left the system mired in confusion.
A limited supply of just 1,000 tests vanished off the government's website after Matt Hancock launched them for 10million key workers and their families.
The Tory Health Secretary announced last night he would expand Covid-19 testing to all "essential workers" - including supermarket workers, delivery drivers and teachers - plus those who live with them.
But Twitter was flooded with complaints today that the government website either wasn't working or showing home testing kits had run out.
