The number of people in the UK whose deaths are linked to coronavirus has increased by 739 to 27,510, according to Health Secretary Matt Hancock.
Speaking at a daily briefing, Mr Hancock also said that 122,347 Covid-19 tests were conducted in the 24 hours to 9am this morning.
Mr Hancock said testing would help "unlock" the lockdown. However, he added that the UK will not lift lockdown measures until it is safe to do so.
Doubts have been cast over how the tests have been counted. Guidance on the official British government website appears to have changed in the days before the testing deadline.
