Matt Hancock 'very worried about new condition in children linked to coronavirus'

Health Secretary Matt Hancock has admitted he is “very worried” about a coronavirus-linked condition that appears in children and is similar to toxic shock syndrome or Kwakai disease.

NHS doctors were issued an alert about the rise in the “inflammatory” syndrome in recent weeks, which is “very rare” but could be caused by Covid-19.

It has not been confirmed if the symptoms are definitively linked to coronavirus, but England’s top doctor, Professor Christopher Whitty said the reports do warrant further investigation.
