Doctors in the United States have raised the alarm on a rare new condition thought to be linked to coronavirus, which is believed to have caused the death of a 14-year-old boy in the UK.
In New York, about 100 suspected cases of the inflammatory syndrome have been reported with more than half of the children affected aged about 5-17.
Medics say the syndrome is similar to Kawasaki disease - a rare inflammatory disease which mainly affects children under the age of five - and which has also been linked to the Covid-19 outbreak.
Early in the pandemic, children were thought to be less likely to be affected by the deadly virus, which is hitting the elderly and vulnerable populations with underlying conditions around the world hardest.
