Coronavirus lockdown has unexpected impact on family mealtimes and eating habits

Families are eating up to two-and-a-half hours earlier and lapping up tasty desserts because of the lockdown, according to new data.

As Brits settle into a change in lifestyle caused by the coronavirus pandemic, our eating habits have adjusted to reflect the longer days spent at home.

Just Eat has studied internal data which suggests without the daily commute, we are getting hungrier and, as a result, eating earlier.

Prior to lockdown, the food delivery app's busiest time for dinner orders was 7.30pm, but this has now come forward to 5pm. This is also reflected by lunchtime orders, which are now peaking BEFORE midday.
