Medical chiefs have raised strong concerns that some hospitals could run out entirely of certain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) this weekend.
The warning comes as Public Health England (PHE) changed their guidance on Friday evening for healthcare workers treating patients with coronavirus.
While thousands of NHS staff have expressed fear that they feel unsafe on the frontline with 'inadequate' protection, they have now been asked to work without full-length gowns and to reuse items amid shortages of protective garments.
Chris Hopson, chairman of NHS Providers, said some trusts will run out of supplies in the next 24-48 hours because we have “reached the point where national stock of fully fluid repellent gowns and coveralls (is)
