Last night's Saturday Night Takeaway smashed records as the show enjoyed its biggest audience ever. An average of 9.5million tuned in to see Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly lift everyone’s spirits - 39 per cent up on the series average.
Viewing figures peaked at 11.1m, more than any channel since the New Year’s Eve fireworks on BBC1. It was the most watched programme of 2020 so far by young people with 1.6m 16-34 year-old watching, figures show.
It was also ITV's biggest audience in the Saturday slot since April 2016. But it could be the last live show for some time. Takeaway's live broadcast has been cancelled next week amid coronavirus fears.
