Coronavirus vaccine firms hit back following claims of shortage across Britain

Pfizer and AstraZeneca have hit back after the Government warned there would be months-long supply shortages of the coronavirus vaccines.

It comes following claims by Boris Johnson that the jabs are "the limiting factor" and top medical bosses said that a "vaccine shortage is a reality that cannot be washed away".

In a bid to ensure that as many Brits as possible receive the vaccine, the government said that a single vaccine will be given to as many people as possible, rather than issue those already vaccinated with a second dose.

A statement issued by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation advising the Department of Health stated that the supply for the vaccine was "limited".
