NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday issued a slew of directions to ensure smooth functioning of courts through video-conferencing during the 21-day covid-19 lockdown.
An apex court three-judge bench presided by Chief Justice SA Bobde directed state officials of National Informatics Centre (NIC) to liaise with respective high courts and formulate a plan for virtual functioning of the courts.
Guidelines related to video conferencing would be formulated and sent to respective courts and lawyers by the NIC. Appropriate steps will be taken if the lockdown is not lifted by the government after 14 April, the top court added.
