Cynthia Erivo has lined up her next big starring role! On Tuesday (February 18), the 38-year-old Wicked actress revealed that she will be playing Jesus in a Hollywood Bowl production of Jesus Christ Superstar this summer.

The Hollywood Bowl shared the big casting announcement, promising that the production would signify a “returning to [the musical's] rock roots. Keep reading to find out more… Jesus Christ Superstar uses music from Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. Cynthia is the only actress who has been cast so far.

However, additional stars will be joining the production. The show begins on August 1 and run through August 3. See the dates and ticket information. “Just a little busy this summer,” Cynthia teased in a post on her Instagram story. “Can’t wait!!” The actress has been busy lately as she has made appearances at multiple awards ceremonies.
