A dad-of-three was told he was free from cancer, only to be diagnosed with a brain lesion just days later. Darren Gooch, 45, had been suffering from seizures since the summer of 2023.
After noticing changes in his behaviour, memory loss and night sweats, he decided to close down his gas business. His family then had to rely on his wife's part-time wage.
But weeks later Darren was diagnosed with primary CNS lymphoma, a type of cancer that forms in the brain's lymph tissue and underwent four rounds of intense chemotherapy.
Four months later, doctors told him he was cancer-free - yet just over a week later, he suffered two more seizures while in hospital.
