A woman was taken to hospital after an Audi was smashed into a lamp post and flipped onto its roof in Manchester on Wednesday night (March 13).
Paramedics, police and fire crews descended on Briscoe Lane, near Newton Heath, following the collision. Two women were assessed at the scene before one was taken to hospital.
Dramatic pictures taken from the scene showed a damaged lamp post and the silver car on its roof, with a number of police vehicles and fire crews in attendance. Fire crews were in attendance for an hour while the scene was cleared and the car was recovered. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Just before 7.30pm this evening (Wednesday 13th March), two fire engines from Manchester Central and Blackley fire station, along with the Technical Response Unit from Ashton, were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car crashing into a lamp post on Briscoe Lane, Manchester. “Crews arrived quickly at the scene and worked to make the vehicle safe.
