A coronavirus outbreak at an Irvine care home has led to the deaths of 22 residents, the Irvine Herald can reveal.The tragic loss of life at Fullarton Care Home in Ayr Road was confirmed today by HC-One – the private healthcare firm who run the complex.It was reported a month ago that at least 10 residents had passed away at the covid-hit home.But relatives told the Irvine Herald they’d found it difficult to get information about the ongoing situation.HC-One declined to comment on claims that the virus had spread between the site’s two main buildings.They also failed to respond to claims that five staff members recently tested positive for the disease and a further four are currently shielding, prompting concerns about adequate staffing.
