Disney has confirmed that a new live-action version of Artemis Fowl is heading to its streaming service. The feature length film will arrive on Disney+ exclusively on June 12, after its cinema release was cancelled following the coronavirus outbreak.
The story follows Artemis Fowl, a 12-year-old genius and a descendant of a long line of criminal masterminds. He searches for his father, who has mysteriously disappeared, and comes into conflict with the hidden world of the fairies.
It stars Colin Farrell, Judi Dench and Josh Gad while newcomer Ferdia Shaw stars as the title character. It's based on the best-selling young adult book by Eoin Colfer and is directed by Kenneth Branagh, who's previously directed the live-action remake of
