"Duke University expects all students to abide by their commitment to the Duke Community Standard in everything they do as students."The similarities of the two speeches were first reported by the university’s student newspaper "The Chronicle." The story centered around student Priya Parkash who delivered her speech for the university’s 2022 commencement.
It’s believed her speech contained similar elements to a speech given by Sarah Abushaar at Harvard’s 2014 commencement.A side-by-side comparison of the speeches was also posted on a YouTube video. The Chronicle highlighted several instances where the speeches overlapped.
