The European Health Insurance Card website has crashed following the government's announcement that Brits will be able to travel again.
EHIC cards, which are free to apply for, allow British citizens to access state-provided medical treatment in the European Economic Area, along with Switzerland, when they travel with their card to hand.
Depending on the country, healthcare is either free or at a reduced cost. But following the government's holiday announcement last night the site has crashed.
People trying to apply for one a card or renew one are met with a message simply saying: "Sorry! EHIC is unavailable "The EHIC Service you're looking for is not currently available. "We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause." Money Saving
