Nearly 10,000 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Florida in the last 24 hours, breaking the state's record for a second day in a row.
The grim milestone was reached after Florida's Department of Health confirmed 9,585 new infections on Saturday, according to the Miami Herald.
A further 24 deaths were reported, bringing the total number of lives lost in the state to 3,390. The spike - which takes the total number of confirmed cases in Florida to 132,525 - has forced officials to put fresh new lockdown measures in place.
