MUMBAI : The BSE FMCG index in the last 11 sessions has surged over 25% outperforming the benchmark Sensex, which gained 20% during the same period.
Shares of Emami Ltd -- the maker of Zandu balm, chyawanprash and other healthcare products -- have gained over 50% since 24 March.
Shares of Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL), which produces soaps, toiletries and detergents, have surged about 33% during the said period.
With a wide portfolio of products ranging from tea, coffee, salt, pulses, spices and others, Tata Consumer Products Ltd’s share price has risen by 36%.
