'Furloughed foodies' cook healthy meals for NHS heroes on coronavirus frontline

A group of 'furloughed foodies' are cooking healthy meals to feed our NHS heroes working on the coronavirus frontline. Floris ten Nijenhuis, 27, began the initiative and now has more than 200 volunteers cooking for 15 London hospitals - with more asking for help.

They make 100 meals for three hospitals every day, delivering more than 2,000 dinners to doctors and nurses each week. Their delicious dishes have included salads, curries, pastas and lamb roasts and Floris says they have supermarkets and butchers on board donating goods.

He is looking for more volunteers and more funds to support this initiative, Furloughed Foodies, until the end of May. Floris told Mirror Online: "I just want to feel like I'm not just a passenger in this.
