German holidaymakers will be free to hog Majorca’s sunbeds after Spain banned Brits from the Balearics. Tourism minister Iago Negueruela said he would turn away UK visitors because Boris Johnson “took too long” in announcing a coronavirus lockdown.

Officials in holiday hotspots Ibiza, Majorca, Menorca, and Fromentera are planning to open resorts to overseas visitors this summer.

They are targeting a 75% reduction in visitors as Spain battles the pandemic. But Brit tourists will be turned away at the airport – while Germans, Swedes, and Danes will be waved straight through.
