Gladiator's host Bradley Walsh has opened up about his health battle with a 'silent killer' that almost killed him before he made one big lifestyle change.The 63-year-old who will return to screens tonight to host tonight's highly-anticipated Gladiators finale with his son Barney, 26, has previously spoken about his health "time bomb" and the major wake up call he received after learning he suffered from high cholesterol.The Chase star first revealed his condition back in 2020 as he admitted he was "quite lucky" that the "silent killer" was caught in time.Bradley said: "I was a time bomb.
I was quite lucky in regards to the calcium test but my doctor said I produce too much cholesterol. It’s a silent killer."I thought, 'Oh crikey, I’m gonna be bang in trouble here if I don’t lose the weight and start dealing with this'."Cholesterol is a fatty substance in the blood and an excess of it can build up in arteries and result in a heart attack or stroke.The father-of-two was told he was at a much higher risk of heart problems since his own dad died from heart disease aged 59, when Bradley was 33-years-old.After being warned by doctors, he decided to give up fatty foods and alcoholic drinks.The ITV star admitted that he had a "hang up" about turning 60 as his dad sadly never got to reach that age.
Speaking to The Sun, Bradley said: "I had it in the back of my mind that I just had to get past my dad’s age. So turning 60 was a bit of milestone." In addition to high cholesterol, Bradley also suffers from "seriously bad" blepharitis which causes inflammation of the eyelids along with redness, swelling and itchiness.The condition can cause the eyes to get stuck together in the morning and the Gladiator's host has revealed he will
