The coronavirus death toll has risen again in Greater Manchester

A further 18 people have died after testing positive for coronavirus in Greater Manchester's hospitals. It means a total of 1,598 have now passed away in the region's hospitals after contracting Covid-19.

There were six further deaths recorded at both Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust in the last 24 hours.

A further five people died after testing positive for Covid-19 at Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. And there was one death recorded at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.
