King Charles was all smiles as he waved to onlookers when he and Queen Camilla arrived at Easter service this morning.The monarch joined other members of the royal family for the annual Easter Mattins Service at St George’s Chapel on Sunday.
Charles arrived by car shortly after 10:40am in his first significant public appearance since being diagnosed with cancer.Charles, who donned a dark coat and blue tie, smiled and waved at members of the public.
One person shouted "Happy Easter", to which the king gestured with his arm and responded: "And to you."The Princess Royal and her husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York, all arrived at the chapel a few moments before the King and Queen.The Princess of Wales was not due to attend the service.
She, the Prince of Wales and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, who all attended the service last year, were absent.
