Anna Holland Smith was once a criminal defence lawyer for one of the largest criminal defence firms in the country. This was meant to be a job that would last her entire working life, but after a few years into the role, she began to dream about a mid-career switch.
She wanted to transition into tech and become a software engineer. Unlike many people who simply dream of change, Anna was determined enough to chuck in her corporate career and realise her ambition by completing a programme devised by Makers, the UK’s leading software bootcamp.
Her intensive training on campus lasted only 16 weeks, but it gave her the skills that businesses needed. Upon graduation, she landed a job as a software developer at BBC.
