The number of coronavirus cases in the UK has been on the rise which has led to the NHS scaling up their Covid testing. Ahead of a busy winter for the health service, the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) have said the surveillance of coronavirus during the colder months is one of its 'top priorities'.

Two Covid variants have appeared in the news in recent weeks with members of the public being warned about the Eris and Pirola mutations of the virus.

With this in mind many people have taken to the shops in search of Covid testing kits to protect themselves ahead of time. Claire says that not only did she find no Covid tests, but full medicine cupboards of winter staples like paracetamol were also tricky to find.
