Council chiefs have closed Irvine library until the New Year amid Covid-related heating and ventilation issues.The High Street facility has relied on fresh air from open windows to reduce the potential spread of the virus in recent months.However, following a dip in temperatures, staff are now finding the building too cold to work in.And with the library's heating system identified as a potential Covid risk, there is currently no way to warm the place in winter.North Ayrshire Council say work is now underway to find a solution to the problem – with a view to potentially reopening the library in January.A spokesperson said: “Unfortunately, we have had to take the tough decision to temporarily close Irvine library.The Ayrshire Live app is
