ITV is releasing classic episodes of Coronation Street during the coronavirus lockdown. Vintage episodes of Corrie and its rural sister soap Emmerdale will be placed on its on-demand platform ITV Hub while filming is halted on the shows.

Emmerdale will run out of episodes at the end of this month while Coronation Street will last into June. This is the first time that filming on the world's longest soap, which turns 60 in December, has been stopped.

The episodes will air every weekday on ITV Hub from Monday, to give “soap fans a trip down memory lane and a chance to relive some of soapland’s most iconic characters,” ITV has said.
