Jio adds 25.1 million customers in Q3 despite covid, local issues

₹3,489 crore for the three months ended December, up 15.5% quarter-on-quarter Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd added 25.1 million gross subscribers in the December quarter, beating analysts’ estimates that pegged the number around 6-7 million.

The Mukesh Ambani-led telco on Friday said its net subscriber addition of 40 million during the calendar year 2020 was the highest in the industry.

Jio is India’s largest operator by market share.The telecom operator reported a net profit of ₹3,489 crore for the three months ended December, up 15.5% quarter-on-quarter.

The average revenue per user (Arpu) increased to ₹151 during October-December, from ₹145 a quarter ago.The Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) telecom subsidiary said it witnessed higher churn rate.
