JK Rowling has slammed Dominic Cummings for breaching the government's lockdown rules. The Harry Potter author has called out the senior governmental advisor's "indefensible hypocrisy and selfishness" on Twitter.
Cummings has been widely criticised for travelling more than 250 miles from his London home to his parents' house in Durham, despite the government urging Brits to stay at home during the coronavirus crisis.
Downing Street has backed him, saying the trip was "essential" as Cummings needed to find urgent care for his children while his wife had coronavirus and he thought he would become ill.
But the decision has faced a huge backlash on Twitter, including from Rowling. She tweeted: "People have missed funerals of loved ones
