Groups of six people from different households will be able to exercise together from Monday as the UK's coronavirus lockdown measures begin to ease.
The announcement was made during Saturday's daily coronavirus briefing, where Professor Jonathan Van-Tam, deputy chief medical officer, made his feelings about Prime Minister Boris Johnson's chief advisor Dominic Cummings' trip to Durham during the country's lockdown known.
Professor Van-Tam was asked about the government advisor's trip to Durham (and subsequently Barnard Castle) while the UK was in lockdown.
Prof Van-Tam replied: "In my opinion the rules are clear and they have always been clear. "In my opinion they are for the benefit of all and they apply to all." Durham Police concluded
