Racing jockey Tom Marquand has been fined £1000 after celebrating his Queen Elizabeth Stakes win by hugging a stablehand. Marquand rode Addeybb to victory on Saturday at Royal Randwick in Sydney before embracing stablehand Safid Alam.
Marquand had said: "What a tough, straightforward, genuine horse. An honour to ride a horse like that." But stewards at the Royal Randwick track met after the incident and issued Marquand a AU$2000 fine while Alam was fined $500 (around £250).
