Jordan Nobbs pledges her support to investigating long-term injuries in women's game

Jordan Nobbs has thrown her weight behind an official inquiry into career-threatening knee injuries. The Arsenal and England midfielder has confirmed she would be happy to help with any research that shines ­additional light on problems that are ­currently blighting the women’s game.

Nobbs, 27, who signed a new long-term deal with the Gunners earlier this week, was predicted to become a global superstar at last year’s World Cup until she ruptured her anterior cruciate ­ligament (ACL).

That left her watching from the sidelines – a frustration compounded when the coronavirus caused the ­abandonment of this year’s Tokyo Olympics.
