Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan has revealed that his Good Morning Britain co-host Kate Garraway has been given “huge hope” by coronavirus survivors as her husband Derek battles the virus.The presenter spoke out as Derek remains in intensive care seven weeks after contracting Covid-19.

Speaking on Wednesday’s Good Morning Britain, Piers and Susanna interviewed Jo Tillbrook and her husband Clive. Jo had been incredibly ill with the virus, with doctors saying she wouldn’t survive.

However, Jo has fully recovered from coronavirus and spoke about her horrifying ordeal on the ITV daytime show. Piers told Jo that stories like hers had made Kate hopeful about her husband, who is reportedly “fighting for his life”, will recover and return home.
