Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan revealed that his co-star Kate Garraway has been given great hope from hearing stories about people surviving coronavirus as he spoke to survivor Jo Tillbrook today.

Kate's husband Derek Draper was admitted to hospital with coronavirus on March 30, and has been critically ill and placed on a ventilator.

He is understood to still be in an unresponsive critical condition but Kate, 53, said that he is still "fighting for his life".

Jo had been seriously ill with the virus for weeks before eventually being released from hospital to the sound of applause. Her husband Clive, who also appeared on the show, had been told to "prepare for the worst" as doctors feared she wouldn't recover.
