Kate Garraway's praise for her children and how they dealt with their dad's ill health before tragic death

Kate Garraway praised her teenage children for coping 'brilliantly' with their dad's illness, just months before he tragically died at the age of 56.

The TV presenter confirmed in an Instagram post on Friday January 5 that her husband Derek had sadly died following a lengthy health battle after contracting Covid-19 almost four years prior.

The former political advisor became one of the first people in the UK to fall seriously ill after being taken to hospital with the virus in March 2020.

Derek spent just over a year in hospital before returning home to Kate and their children - Darcy, 17 and Billy, 14 - in April 2021.

Dream Wife bassist Bella Podpadec has launched exclusive limited edition merch to help crowdfund their top surgery.They took to the band’s official Instagram today (January 26) to share that they have created a very limited edition blue t-shirt which features a pink unicorn playing the bass and the words “Not my body, I am somebody” (a line from Dream Wife’s 2018 song ‘Somebody’) on it as a way to raise money for their top surgery.The tee is priced at £25 and exclusively available on the band’s Bandcamp page.
