Child, 14, taken to hospital with life-changing injuries after Tim Horton's drive thru incident

A man has been arrested by Greater Manchester Police after a 14-year-old child was taken to hospital with possibly life-changing injuries following an incident at a Tim Horton's drive thru.

Police responded to reports of a road traffic collision at the Tim Horton's on Manchester Road in Oldham, just after 3pm today (January 26).

There they found a girl aged just 14 with serious injuries, who was then taken to hospital. The car park of the Canadian restaurant was closed to members of the public while investigations were carried out, though the restaurant remained open.

The unnamed man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving. You can follow our liveblog of this incident here. Half of the car park remains cordoned off this evening, though customers can still access the 24-hour restaurant.
