Kilmarnock couple rearranged their dream wedding in less than a week in a bid to escape tough festive lockdown restrictions that would have cancelled their big day.
Claire – nee McDowall – and Tommy Alldridge, both 31, tied the knot on Christmas Eve – 48 hours before the country was plunged into Tier 4 measures.The couple, both teachers, had already set two wedding dates this year but like many couples, had postponed in the hope that the pandemic would improve.Pinning their hopes on December 30, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon’s announcement about new Christmas restrictions devastated the couple as it meant the wedding couldn’t go ahead.And so Tommy, a Grange Academy guidance and PE teacher and Claire, a primary teacher at Whatriggs, moved.
