Coronavirus: Hamilton hits new high for active COVID-19 cases on the weekend

COVID-19 cases on the weekend and recorded a new daily high of 1,226 active cases on Dec. 27.There have been seven more coronavirus-related deaths in the city since Christmas Eve.

Four of the deaths were people over the age of 80, while the other three involved a person in their 70s, another in their 60s and a person aged between 40 and 49.Three of the deaths were connected to the Grace Villa retirement home which now has 32 deaths tied to an outbreak that started on Nov.

25. The home has accounted for a total 222 positive cases involving 141 residents and 81 staff since the outbreak was declared.
