A park ranger was praised for his "ball of steel" when he accidentally stumbled into a pride of lions who were hiding in long grass, with the terrifying encounter caught on video.

In the clip, Steve is tracking a resident pride of lions but hadn't bet on exactly how close he was. Staring at the tracks in the earth and not seeing the ears poking through the grass, he explains: "I want to follow the track with the cubs." At that moment, he looks up and freezes in fear when a lion suddenly leaps to its feet and he notices the
