Liverpool are sweating on a coronavirus retest, that will determine if star striker Mo Salah must quarantine for 10 days. The forward was routinely screened under protocols after joining up with his country Egypt for international duty this week, and was found to be positive for Covid-19.
But the Reds have already had two players who tested positive but were subsequently found to be clear of the virus on a second test, and the protocol states that a second check is required.
The Egyptian FA jumped the gun by announcing Salah had tested positive for the virus in a statement released on Friday afternoon, but then deleted that update within an hour.
