BURLINGTON, N.J. - Lightning strikes from a pair of June thunderstorms are being blamed for sparking two forest fires in Burlington County, officials announced Tuesday. The New Jersey Forest Fire Service said the extremely rare phenomenon started the Acorn Hill wildfire in the Woodland Township area on June 16, and the Flatiron forest fire in Medford on June 3. While both wildfires were started by lightning strikes, fire investigators say the spread in different ways. Each wildfire consumed over 200 acres of woodland.Investigators found the Acorn Hill wildfire started through what's known as a "holdover fire" where a fire burns inside a lightning-struck tree for several days before it ignites other vegetation.

CAMDEN, N.J. - Camden County will soon have over half a dozen overdose emergency stations stocked with Narcan at county parks. The stations will be filled with boxes of Naloxone nasal spray, an overdose reverse drug. There have been over 100 overdose deaths in Camden County this year."The epidemic is still out there, drugs are getting more dangerous and we need to respond as a government," Camden County Commissioners Director Louis Capelli Jr said. Narcan has been administered over 500 times in the first four months of 2023, according to Camden County officials. The Narcan stations cost $6,000 each, and are being paid for by the county's share of an opioid manufactures class action settlement.

CLEARWATER, Fla. - A video taken of a waterspout in Clearwater Beach on Friday afternoon shows beachgoers running as equipment goes flying in the air in just a matter of seconds. The beginning of the video — which was taken by BK Adventure, Florida Bioluminescence Tours — shows the waterspout moving quickly through the water. Some people appear to remain oblivious, while others are keeping a keen eye on what's about to unfold. As the waterspout approaches the shore, several people can be seen running from the water toward the beach line. Within 10 seconds, debris, beach umbrellas, and chairs can be seen flying in the air and tumbling across the sand. It is unknown if anyone was injured during the waterspout. MORE WILD VIDEOS: Waterpouts can fall into two categories — fair-weather waterspouts and tornadic waterspouts. Tornadic waterspouts are tornados that form over water, and move from land to water.
