PHILADELPHIA - Two people are fighting for lives after a shooting Monday afternoon in Philadelphia's Kensington neighborhood. Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department were called to the 3100 block of G Street just before 5 p.m. for reports of gunfire. Police found a 28-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the shoulder and a graze wound to the head.

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA - New details are emerging on a shooting that injured a five-year-old boy and has his grandfather fighting for his life.Investigators are saying the shooter’s vehicle is connected to an organized group of car thefts from major car rental companies at Philadelphia International Airport. The car was recovered a short distance away from the shooting Sunday night and police are processing it for evidence.At the Exxon gas station, at South 61st Street and Passyunk Avenue Sunday night, drivers are thinking of the 71-year-old grandfather and his five-year-old grandson injured in a shooting 24 hours before."We were just talking about it.

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia has seen an especially violent start to the weekend, as four people have lost their lives to shootings in a 24-hour span.Early Saturday morning, around 2 a.m., 22nd District officers responded to the 1400 block of North Broad Street on the report of two men shot. Officers found a 20-year-old with gunshot wounds across his body. He died at Temple University Hospital.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Law enforcement in Delaware County is investigating the assault and robbery of a teenager, according to authorities. Sources tell FOX 29 a 15-year-old boy was attacked and robbed in Haverford Township on Monday after 9 p.m.

The deaths of two American tourists on vacation in Mexico prompted the luxury seaside resort they were staying in to temporarily suspend operations until an internal investigation can be conducted.“Our top priority is the safety and wellbeing of guests and colleagues and the property will not resume normal operations until our investigation is complete,” a Hyatt spokesperson told CBS. The Hotel Rancho Pescadero, where the couple died, is owned by Hyatt Hotels and is located in El Pescadero, a small town north of Cabo San Lucas.John Heathco, 41, and Abby Lutz, 28, were found dead in their hotel room last week after previously being hospitalized for what they thought was food poisoning earlier in their trip, according to Lutz’s family.The couple’s cause of death was deemed as “intoxication by substance to be determined,” according to the state attorney general’s office.

MATADOR, Texas - At least four people have been killed, and nine others were injured when a tornado ripped through the town of Matador, Texas, Wednesday evening, according to local officials.According to Derek Delgado, the Public Information Officer with Lubbock Fire Rescue, everyone is currently accounted for, and search and rescue efforts resumed at first light Thursday morning.Initially, 10 people were reported to be injured, but one of the tornado victims died at the hospital, bringing the total number of injured to nine.Drone video shows extensive damage after a deadly tornado in Matador, Texas, on June 21, 2023. PHILADELPHIA - A driver involved in a deadly collision with a motorcyclist in Philadelphia was arrested miles away in a different part of the state on suspicions of driving under the influence, police say. According to officials with the Philadelphia Police Department, the deadly crash took place on Wednesday shortly after 5:15 p.m.

police lights (FOX 9)PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say a man has barricaded himself inside a South Philadelphia home after allegedly shooting two people. Police say two people, a 29-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman, drove to the Philadelphia Police Department's first district and told officer they were shot. Police drove the victims to Penn Presbyterian Hospital where they were each placed in stable condition, according to police. Investigators later learn that the man and woman were shot on the 2300 block of Bambrey Street.

WEST PHILADELPHIA - A shooting on a West Philadelphia street injures two men, one critically.The shooting happened on the 400 block of North Wanamaker Street about 7:15 Wednesday evening, according to authorities.A 23-year-old and a 20-year-old man were both injured when the gunfire took place outside on the street near some homes, according to authorities.Police took the 23-year-old man to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. He is critical after he was shot in the abdomen.The 20-year-old was also taken by police to Presbyterian with two gunshot wounds to the arm.

GRANT COUNTY, Wash. - The man charged with killing two people and injuring three others at the Gorge Amphitheatre last week claimed he was hallucinating on mushrooms and believed "the world was ending," according to court documents obtained by FOX 13 News.An active duty soldier stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, 26-year-old James Kelly, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and three counts of first-degree assault – one of those a domestic violence charge.A detective with Washington State Patrol interviewed Kelly while he was being treated at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane.

Royal Canadian Air Force are injured and two others are missing after they were involved in a helicopter crash Tuesday morning near Ottawa.A four-member crew was on a training flight overnight when the Chinook helicopter they were in crashed into the Ottawa River near Garrison Petawawa, Ont., the Department of National Defence said in a statement.Two other members of the crew taken to hospital in Pembroke after they were found by first responders, DND said.By Tuesday morning, nearly 50 Canadian Armed Forces members were assisting the rescue efforts on shore and water, along with RCAF aircraft, an Ontario Provincial Police marine unit and local fire departments.The RCAF is involved in a search for two missing members of 450 THS following the crash of a CH-147F Chinook in the Ottawa River near Gn Petawawa, Ont. during a training flight in the early morning of June 20, 2023.

PHILADELPHIA - Work continued Monday on the collapsed section of Interstate 95 in Northeast Philadelphia under the two-week deadline for reopening set by Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro. "We are getting it done here in Philly," Gov. QUINCY, Wash. - Two people were killed and multiple people were injured, after a shooting at the Beyond Wonderland festival Saturday night.Around 8:25 p.m., authorities were called to reports of shots fired at the Gorge Amphitheatre campground. The Grant County Sheriff's Office said while deputies responded to the call, the suspect "randomly continued to shoot into the crowd." Deputies shot the suspect and took him into custody. The suspect was hospitalized for his injuries, but no further details were immediately released.Two people were killed and three people were injured, including the suspect, officials said. Details on the injured victims would be released at a later time, said Kyle Foreman, public information officer with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.Beyond Wonderland, which was scheduled for two days, canceled its Sunday events.

PHILADELPHIA - Investigators with the Philadelphia Police Department are working to learn more about a crash in the city that left multiple people injured on Sunday night. Authorities say two vehicles were involved in the crash, which took place around 11 p.m. in the area of N Broad Street and W Erie Avenue. Officials say four adults and two children were injured in the cars, while two pedestrians were also injured. Police have not provided details on the severity of the injuries or information about how the crash occurred.   FOX 29's cameras captured moments after the crash, where two cars could be seen damaged on the roadway. According to authorities, force from the crash caused one car to block the entrance to the subway. FOX 29 has reached out to police for additional information. This is a developing story.
