MIFFLINTOWN, Pa. - Officials are expressing shock and sadness at the death of one state trooper and the critical wounding of another hours apart in central Pennsylvania over the weekend.Police in Juniata County said a man engaged troopers at about 12:45 p.m.

Saturday near the Lewistown barracks and shot one trooper, who was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Authorities found the man shortly before 3 p.m.

Herbert Morrison turned himself in last Friday for the alleged sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl whom investigators say he met on Instagram. Court documents show the sexual assault happened a month after the pair met while Morrison was out on bail for beating 40-year-old Zach Lean so severely he was in monthlong coma."One of them punched him in the head, knocked him to the ground, he hit his head on the curb and started having a seizure," said his Zach's wife Christine. SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and Philadelphia city leaders gathered Sunday with union workers for a celebration honoring the construction crews who worked around the clock to get the I-95 temporary highway rebuilt and to say "Thank You" for a job well done.To a rowdy crowd of union workers, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro put an end cap to a miraculous two weeks that resulted in I-95 reopening before anybody could ever have expected."I got the baddest team in the City of Philadelphia," Rob Buckley stated.At a venue that is fit to celebrate champions on the field, a different kind of hero was celebrated Sunday."I am so damn proud to be your governor!" Shapiro exclaimed.Governor Shapiro, along with Mayor Kenney and officials from PennDOT, took the opportunity Sunday to not just give thanks to the workers who helped reopen I-95 in record time, but to give back to them."He didn’t leave that sight, neither did Mike Carroll and neither did all of you who were doing 12-hour shifts to make sure region and the nation got moving again," Gov. Shapiro remarked.The day started with workers being honored before the first pitch at the Phillies game.Marloy Gonzalez is with Local 57 and was involved every step of the way these past two weeks.

Philadelphia first responders and construction crews, along with Philadelphia sports mascots were the first to drive over the new roadway.PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll says teams have been working on the rebuilding process and thinking outside of the box to get the interstate back open. Shapiro and PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll lauded the "round the clock" work of road crews to complete the expedited project ahead of schedule. A section of the northbound lanes of the elevated highway collapsed early June 11 after a tractor-trailer hauling gasoline flipped over on an off-ramp and caught fire. State transportation officials said the driver, who was killed, lost control around a curve.

A fire caused part of a busy US highway overpass to collapse in Philadelphia early Sunday, authorities said, a PHILADELPHIA - Just days after a tanker carrying thousands of gallons of gasoline crashed under I-95, causing part of an overpass to collapse, state and local leaders announced the timeline for its reconstruction plan. On Sunday, a tanker truck carrying 8,500 gallons of gasoline was traveling in the northbound lanes when it overturned on the curve of an off-ramp. The crash caused gasoline to leak into the roadway and sparked a large fire under I-95 at Cottman Avenue, causing it to collapse into the roadway underneath it. Newly obtained surveillance video captured the moment a tanker truck carrying 8,500 gallons of gasoline crashed and caught fire underneath I-95 in Northeast Philadelphia.
