Leroy Sane is against the idea of the 2019-20 campaign being cancelled and says he would be happy to play in empty stadiums if it meant getting the season finished.
The Manchester City star, who was on the brink of a comeback from injury when football was shut down by the Covid-19 pandemic, reckons that finishing off the suspended campaign would be the “fairest” way to proceed.
Some players have suggested this season should be voided, and the next campaign started on schedule in August, if the government declares it safe to do so.
But Uefa and the Premier League have both made a commitment to complete the current season, if it is safe to do so. No plans have been drawn up, but the general idea appears to be for domestic leagues to resume in
