Man in high-vis gear goes on stabbing rampage at shopping centre before being shot

A man armed with a knife has been shot dead after going on a stabbing rampage, leaving five people in hospital. It has been reported the man was wearing high vis clothes while charging through a shopping centre in Western Australian.

Witnesses claim he ran through a Kmart and a McDonald's attacking people – victims include a mother and toddler who were out shopping.

During his rampage he also stabbed someone in a McDonald's car park before running through the shopping centre. The frenzied man was then killed at the South Hedland Square shopping centre today.

Pilbara District Police Force have released details of the incident in a Facebook post: "Police can confirm that a male has died as a result of the incident at the South Hedland Square
