Manchester United, Wolves and Rangers are expected to be back in European action on Thursday, August 6. The trio are Britain’s remaining representatives in the Europa League this season.
And UEFA are mapping out plans to bring back the competition at the end of the summer. The coronavirus crisis saw the Europa League campaign brought to a sudden halt back in March.
Five of the eight round of 16 first leg ties took place before UEFA postponed all matches moving forward. Those matches that did go ahead included United’s 5-0 win away to LASK behind closed doors on Thursday, March 12 at the Linzer Station.
Elsewhere, Wolves drew 1-1 away to Greek giants Olympiakos, while Steven Gerrard’s Rangers were beaten 3-1 at Ibrox by Bundesliga side Bayer
